David Bromley (b. 1960, Sheffield, England) is an Australian Contemporary artist who emerged in the Australian art scene as a self-taught painter in the mid 1980s.
Named among Australian Art Collector’s 50 Most Collectable Artists, Bromley’s works are inspired by books from his childhood and pop artists such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. His works have been exhibited in Asia, Europe, Africa and America. As a portrait painter, Bromley has painted Australian celebrities such as actor Hugo Weaving, singer Kylie Minogue, model Megan Gale and arts patron Kim Bonython.
Bromley is a five-time Archibald Prize finalist and has had more than 30 national solo exhibitions since the beginning of his career. His works are well collected internationally and across Australia including the state galleries of Western Australia and South Australia.
